the story
We are a family owned business, which is absolutely terrifying. Why? Haven't you ever heard anyone say, "don't mix business with pleasure?" That's why. However, this is a little different. I live in California, my mom lives in Texas and she's my BFF, so let's give it a go!
While talking on the phone one day, my mom, who works as a screenwriter, actress, and costume designer was telling me how bored she was... This woman will be 70 soon, bored!?
Well, this almost 70 year old woman, is more active than most I know, and is the most creative person I know. Always making a movie, creating music, writing songs, making wardrobe, or helping someone with one of the above or something similar.
So, knowing her motto is "keep creating," I, the business mind, pitched her the idea of making me a shirt or two with some of my favorite things. To no surprise, she said "why don't we repurpose some of the items I have used on movie sets?"
Viola! Now we have Jagged Threads.

the process
All of the clothes are upcycled! Not only is upcycled a new trendy term, but it actually means something. "To recycle or reuse something in a way that increases the original object's value. In other words, upcycling is taking something old and creating something new."
We found a way to repurpose clothes and make them even more wearable and delightful than before.
Jagged Threads can customize and personalize any of your own items too! Slide in our DM's for more details!
the name
We wanted something that was kind of rugged or distressed, but not that obvious, plus we wanted to be trendy and cool like we say "Threads" often when speaking of clothing, which is fake, we don't! Anyway, as I mentioned, the soon to be 70 year old woman is active and always creating, which also means she loves all kinds of music. And let's be real, who doesn't love some 90's R&B? Finally, we wanted a play on words, to show how clever we really are. After about 25 iterations of raunchy, and borderline derogatory names, I finally text my mom with "Jagged Threads," - look no further!
